NO LOVE LOST lives in the space between heartbreak and hope. It considers what remains after love has altered us. Not innocence. Not forgetting. Something more deliberate. The choice to stay open even after experience has given us every reason to retreat.
The surface holds that tension through dense hand-built texture layered in crimson paint, bone-toned paint and black. Preserved roses rise from the work in softer coral tones, each one carrying its own irregularity. The contrast is intentional. The crimson brings intensity. The bone creates space around it. Black gives the composition weight.
At its core, NO LOVE LOST is about emotional endurance. About refusing to let heartbreak become a permanent architecture around the heart. The past is allowed to exist, but it is not allowed to define the limits of what can still be felt. What has been broken is not erased. It is carried forward differently.
The work asks whether love can remain expansive after disappointment. Whether softness can survive experience. Whether hope can become something more conscious than naive. NO LOVE LOST offers no clean answer. It simply stays with the possibility.
